Summary of the Winter Workshop on Gentrification

On January 26, The Kraks Fond – Institute for Urban Economic Research held a one-day workshop on urban economics in Copenhagen, Denmark. The focus was on quantitative methods and analysis of gentrification. The workshop brought together academics from leading worldwide universities and provided an opportunity to gain insight into and exchange ideas on the cutting-edge research on various aspects of urban economics.

The workshop took place at Fæstningens Materialgård (the Fortification Depot) with the following keynote speakers:

  • Gabriel Ahlfeldt (The London School of Economics)
  • Nathaniel Baum-Snow (University of Toronto)
  • Jan Rouwendal (VU University Amsterdam)
  • Jos Van Ommeren (VU University Amsterdam) 

Furthermore, the workshop included four paper presentations by:

  • Jordi Jofre-Monseny (Universitat de Barcelona)
  • Elizabeth I. Rivera Rodas (Montclair State University)
  • Georges Poquillon (University of Essex)
  • Vincent Viguié (CIRED)
